Galaxy M44 5G Launched With Flagship Features

Samsung has recently introduced a new product in the South Korean market, initially positioned as a business smartphone. However, upon closer examination, it becomes evident that this device is not just any ordinary business phone. It shares several specifications with the Galaxy S21, a former flagship model. This new addition, potentially joining the Galaxy M series, is expected to make its way to the global market soon.

The device in question, known as the Galaxy Jump 3, is touted as the best 5G business smartphone for customers on the KT network, according to Samsung South Korea. Interestingly, this smartphone was previously leaked as the Galaxy M44 before its official launch. The key to its dual identity lies in its model number (SM-M446KZKAKTC), identifying it as Samsung’s new Snapdragon 888 smartphone. While Samsung does not explicitly mention the Snapdragon 888 SoC, the specifications listed on its product page, including a CPU speed of 2.84 GHz, 2.4 GHz, or 1.8 GHz distributed across 8 cores, strongly suggest its presence.

The Galaxy M44 boasts an FHD+ 120Hz display, similar to the Galaxy S21, which also features the Snapdragon 888. However, it’s somewhat disappointing that it comes with a waterdrop-notched IPS display and is limited to a single configuration of 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. On the brighter side, the M44 Jump 3 is equipped with a large 5,000mAh battery, surpassing the battery capacity of the vanilla S21. It also features triple rear camera rings, although only one of these houses a 50MP primary shooter, with the other two containing 2MP sensors each.

As of now, the smartphone does not have individual pricing due to its status as an enterprise device. However, it would be interesting to see how it would be priced in the open retail market. For comparison, the 6GB M34 5G, which features an AMOLED display, was initially priced at INR 24,499 at its launch in India, although it is currently available at a 32% discount on Amazon as of November 11, 2023.
