Recent reports indicate that the Galaxy S26 may not deliver the major upgrade some users were expecting. Nonetheless, the lineup is expected to bring meaningful enhancements, including improved performance and faster wired charging. Furthermore, recent leaks hint at the possibility of significant wireless charging enhancements.

Samsung Could Introduce Qi2.2 Wireless Charging with the Galaxy S26

ETNews reports that the Galaxy S26 series will feature upgraded wireless charging. The Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ are reportedly capable of 20W fast wireless charging, while the Galaxy S26 Ultra may support up to 25W. All three devices are expected to include integrated magnetic alignment compatible with Qi2 or higher wireless chargers.

Samsung has used the Qi standard for wireless charging for years, so the Galaxy S26 phones will likely support the Qi2.2 standard. Recently shared images also reveal built in magnets on all devices to ensure proper alignment with wireless chargers.

If these reports are accurate, 25W wireless charging could fully charge the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s 5,000mAh battery in about one hour. This represents a significant upgrade over the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which takes around two hours to charge wirelessly.

The Galaxy S26 and S26+ support 20W wireless charging, reaching a full charge in about 1.5 hours. They are compatible with numerous accessories such as wireless charging stands, pucks, wallets, LED flash units, and external SSDs, allowing users to enhance and personalize their experience.

The iPhone 17 series and Pixel 10 Pro XL offer up to 25W wireless charging, whereas the remaining Pixel 10 models are capped at 15W. Accordingly, the Galaxy S26 and S26+ should provide faster charging than the standard Pixel 10 devices.
