Galaxy S26 Launch Date Possibly Exposed

Samsung traditionally unveils its Galaxy S series smartphones during the early months of the year, usually around late January or early February. However, the launch of the Galaxy S26 series may be postponed, possibly as a result of strategic changes in the company’s product lineup.

Galaxy S26 Expected to Debut in February 2026

According to a report from MoneyToday, Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy S26 series on February 25, 2026, during the Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event in San Francisco. The city’s growing association with artificial intelligence highlights the strategic importance of this location. This will mark Samsung’s first Galaxy S launch in San Francisco since the Galaxy S23 series, according to a company spokesperson.

By choosing San Francisco, a global hub of AI innovation, for the Galaxy S26 series launch, Samsung underscores a move that is both strategically sound and symbolically significant.

Recent reports suggest that Samsung planned a major update to its Galaxy S lineup with the introduction of a Galaxy S26 Pro, Galaxy S26 Edge and a Galaxy S26 Ultra. However, following the disappointing sales of the Galaxy S25 Edge, the company has reportedly decided to cancel the S26 Edge and revert to its traditional three‑model flagship structure.

Samsung has indicated that certain Galaxy S26 models will be powered by the Exynos 2600 chipset, potentially making it the world’s first smartphone to feature a 2nm-class processor. Developed by Samsung’s System LSI division and fabricated using a 2nm process, the chipset combines a 10-core ARM C1 CPU with an AMD RDNA-powered Xclipse 960 GPU.

Samsung’s Galaxy S26 and S26+ are expected to adopt this chipset across the majority of international markets, excluding Canada, China, and the United States. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will exclusively utilize Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, built on TSMC’s advanced 3nm process node.
