Huawei Is Currently Testing A Smaller Screen Size in Huawei P70 Series

According to the latest leaked information about the Huawei P70 series, it is reported that Huawei is currently testing a smaller screen size, a 1.5k micro curved screen for said series. It is expected that Huawei will introduce a mini version of this series just like Xiaomi, where high-end devices will feature a larger display while the mini version will use a smaller screen size.

Launch and Chipset Specifications

The Huawei P70 series is anticipated to launch around March 2024. The new lineup is expected to be powered by the latest iteration of the Kirin 9000 series chip, which will support 5G network capabilities. This marks a significant step in Huawei’s continued innovation in the smartphone market.

Screen Size and Design Innovations

Currently, Huawei is testing two new screen sizes for the P70 series, specifically 6.58 inches and 6.8 inches. This approach offers both larger and smaller screen options to cater to diverse user preferences. The design strategy follows the micro four-curved solution similar to what was seen in the Mate 60 series.

The introduction of a slightly smaller 6.58-inch screen, a shift from the previous standard of 6.67 inches, is aimed at improving the overall handling and grip of the device. This change reflects Huawei’s commitment to enhancing user experience through ergonomic design.

Display Technology and User Experience

Both screen variants boast a 1.5K resolution and support LTPO adaptive refresh rate technology. This combination is designed to balance smoothness, clarity, and energy efficiency, making it an optimal choice for modern smartphone displays. The LTPO technology allows for dynamic adjustment of the screen’s refresh rate, contributing to a more fluid user experience while conserving battery life.

Potential Variants in the P70 Series

Huawei might adopt a strategy similar to Xiaomi’s digital series, where the standard P70 model could feature a smaller screen, and the higher-end versions might come with a larger display. This approach would enable Huawei to meet the varying needs of different customer segments.

Imaging Capabilities

The P70 series is also set to become Huawei’s strongest imaging flagship since its comeback. The high-end model of the series is rumored to be equipped with a one-inch IMX989 main camera sensor, complete with a variable aperture.

This development could potentially place Huawei’s imaging capabilities far ahead of its competitors. In recent years, Huawei has managed to compete effectively with top-tier flagships using slightly inferior hardware. The upgrade to premium hardware in the P70 series is expected to significantly boost its performance in the imaging department.
