Huawei Mate 90 launch event moved up to September: World’s first Kirin 9050 chip

A blogger has hinted that the launch date for the Huawei Mate 90 series has been moved up, and it may be officially unveiled as early as September this year.

If this leak is true, then the annual flagship products of Huawei and Apple, the two leading manufacturers, will once again face off in September, making the competition in the high-end flagship market exceptionally fierce.

According to information revealed in the digital industry, the Huawei Mate 90 series is expected to continue the mature four-cup product layout of the previous generation, including the standard version, Pro version, Pro Max version and RS Master Edition. The entire series will be the world’s first to use the Kirin 9050 series chip.

Last September, Yu Chengdong publicly mentioned the Kirin 9020 chip model at the Huawei Mate XTs Extraordinary Master launch event, which instantly ignited social networks, and related topics quickly rose to the top of the trending search list across the entire network.

This marks the first time since 2021 that Huawei has publicly indicated the specific model of its Kirin chip at a flagship product launch event. It also signifies that the domestic chip supply chain has achieved full self-reliance and control from design to manufacturing, completely freeing itself from external technological restrictions.

This time, the Huawei Mate 90 series will be the first to be equipped with the Kirin 9050 series chip, and will also come pre-installed with the new HarmonyOS 7 operating system. The two core self-developed capabilities have been deeply adapted and optimized, and the overall performance of the device will see an unprecedented leap.

The imaging configuration has also been upgraded to a breakthrough. The Huawei Mate 90 Pro Max is equipped with a newly developed dual periscope telephoto lens. The new optical solution directly pushes the lossless optical zoom to the 10x mark.

It’s like integrating a teleconverter from a professional camera directly into a slim and lightweight phone body, resulting in a qualitative leap in the phone’s ability to capture distant scenes.
