The Huawei P70 series, which is anticipated to include the Huawei P70, P70 Pro, and P70 Art models, is set to feature large sensors for all three cameras (4x telephoto lens), according to recent leaks. This series, following the launch of the P60 series last March, is generating increasing buzz as it approaches its release.

The main camera of the Huawei P70 series is the OmniVision OV50H sensor, while the P70 Pro/Art models will feature the well-known 1-inch Sony IMX989 sensor. The OV50H sensor is notable for its 1/1.28-inch light-sensitive unit and 1.2μm pixel size. It is OmniVision’s first sensor to support H/VQPD (all-pixel omnidirectional focusing) technology, capable of full-resolution HDR readout speeds at 30fps and 60fps.

Additionally, the new HarmonyOS NEXT is expected to be released on January 18, and the Huawei P70 series might be the first to come equipped with the pure HarmonyOS system and applications. This development is considered even more impactful than the series’ imaging and communication features.

Analysts predict that the Huawei P60 series sold approximately 4 to 5 million units in 2023. With the Kirin chipset and other upgraded configurations, the P70 series is expected to see a significant increase in shipments in 2024, potentially reaching 13 to 15 million units, a 230% increase. Even if inventory replenishment demand slows down in the first half of the year, the P70 series’ shipments could still grow by 150%, reaching 10 to 12 million units.

As for the specific release date of the Huawei P70 series, rumors suggest that Huawei will hold a launch event in March, where the P70 series will be officially unveiled. This upcoming release is highly anticipated by tech enthusiasts and consumers alike.
