Huawei is set to elevate its Pocket series to the same prestigious level as its Mate and P series, with the upcoming launch of the Huawei Pocket 2. This move signifies the Pocket series becoming a standalone lineup within Huawei’s range of smartphones. The new foldable flagship, the Huawei Pocket 2, is expected to be unveiled after the Spring Festival, marking a significant addition to Huawei’s innovative product offerings.

The Huawei Pocket 2 is rumored to be part of Huawei’s Pioneer Program, similar to the Mate 60 series and Mate X5, indicating it might be powered by the Kirin 9000S chip. This chipset features a 1+3+4 architecture, consisting of a 2.49GHz prime core, three 2.15GHz big cores, and four 1.53GHz small cores, with a Mali-G78 GPU. This configuration suggests that the Pocket 2 will be Huawei’s first 5G-capable small foldable screen smartphone.

Previous models in the Pocket series, such as the first-generation P50 Pocket equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 4G and the Pocket S with the Snapdragon 778G 4G, have set high standards for compact foldable devices. The introduction of the Kirin 9000S in the Pocket 2 is anticipated to further enhance the device’s performance and capabilities, making it a noteworthy launch in the foldable smartphone market.
