iPhone 17 Pro series seven major upgrades: 12GB RAM + large battery
Apple reportedly plans to launch a massive lineup of more than 15 new products this fall, including the ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air.
Among them, the flagship products iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max will usher in seven core upgrades:
A19 Pro chip
The Pro series will be exclusively equipped with the new A19 Pro chip, while the basic iPhone 17 will use the standard version of the A19 chip. It is rumored that the iPhone 17 Air will be equipped with an improved version of the A19.
Camera system upgrade
The front cameras of all iPhone 17 series will be upgraded from 12 million pixels to 24 million pixels. As for the rear camera, the telephoto lens will be upgraded to 48 million pixels, and all three cameras will have 48 million pixels.
12GB RAM sets a record
To meet the needs of AI functions such as Apple Intelligence, the Pro series will be equipped with 12GB of RAM for the first time, a 50% increase from the 8GB of the previous generation 16 Pro, significantly enhancing multi-tasking capabilities.
Anti-reflective wear-resistant screen
The Pro model will use a new anti-reflective and more scratch-resistant display, which retains the advantages of nano-textured glass while solving its delicate and difficult-to-maintain problems.
Pro Max battery expansion
The iPhone 17 Pro Max will have a thicker body to accommodate the largest battery ever, further improving battery life. The battery capacity of the Pro version remains the same as the previous generation.
Aluminum metal body and camera bar design
The new phone will feature an aluminum frame instead of titanium, and a horizontal “camera bar” design replaces the traditional raised module. Orange and dark blue will be added to the color scheme, while the classic black and silver options will remain.
VC vapor chamber cooling system
The entire series has upgraded its cooling solution, and Pro Max will be exclusively equipped with a “heat sink + graphite sheet” dual cooling system to cope with the high heat generated by AI computing.
