iPhone 17 takes a crucial step: Apple has completed engineering verification testing

At least one model in the iPhone 17 series has completed the engineering verification (EVT) test, which is a key step for Apple.

It is reported that EVT stands for “Engineering Verification Test”, which is the verification stage in the early stage of product development. At this stage, engineers need to design the product as an engineering sample and correct possible design problems one by one to ensure the completeness of the design and avoid missing any specifications. At the same time, functional testing is also required to fully verify the samples.

According to the plan, after the iPhone 17 series completes the EVT stage, there will be two major stages: DVT (design verification test) and PVT (production verification test), and finally enter large-scale mass production to prepare for the new product launch in September.

It is worth noting that after the EVT stage, Apple still has time to adjust some specifications of the iPhone 17 series. Previously, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that the iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will all come standard with 12GB of memory, but Apple is still hesitating whether to give the standard version of the iPhone 17 12GB of memory.

Guo Mingchi said that Apple will make a final decision after May. Whether the standard version of iPhone 17 will have 8GB or 12GB of memory, I believe we will know in another month.

In addition, the iPhone 17 and iPhone Air are expected to be equipped with the A19 chip, and the iPhone 17 Pro series will be equipped with the A19 Pro chip. Both chips are manufactured based on TSMC’s 3nm process and support Apple smartphones.
