According to Fast Technology on July 8, recent market rumors suggest that Apple’s first foldable phone may be delayed due to complex assembly and low yield rates.

According to CLS News Agency, several Apple supply chain company personnel responded that Apple’s foldable phone product plan has long been finalized, and relevant companies are currently in peak production season, with related products in normal mass production.

Several sources also stated that September delivery should be “no problem,” and they had not heard of any rumors of product delays.

It is reported that Apple’s first foldable screen phone is expected to be named iPhone Ultra, adopting a book-style inward folding design. Although the initial supply will be relatively small due to manufacturing yield constraints, it will not affect the release date. Mass production is scheduled to be postponed until the end of the year.

In other words, those who want to experience the iPhone Ultra as soon as possible need to prepare in advance to purchase it on multiple platforms.

The iPhone Ultra adopts a similar wide proportion to the Huawei Pura X series. When unfolded, it looks like a mini iPad. It is only 4.5mm thick and about 9.23mm thick when folded.

The screen combination consists of a 5.5-inch external screen and a 7.8-inch inward folding screen. The inner screen has a single hole front camera in the upper left corner and does not have a flexible island design.

The back of the phone features a horizontally arranged dual-camera module, which integrates a flash and microphone. The camera module protrudes significantly.

The volume buttons are located on the top of the device, and the power button is located on the right side of the device, eliminating the physical Action Button.

The biometric identification solution no longer uses Face ID, but instead uses Touch ID. At the same time, the body does not have a MagSafe magnetic structure, so if wireless charging is required, a dedicated protective case will likely be needed.

On the hardware front, it will be equipped with an A20 Pro chip and 12GB of RAM. The hinge has been specially optimized to minimize screen creases, positioning the device as a high-end product.

The new phone has an extremely high price threshold. IDC predicts that its average price will be $2,500 (approximately RMB 16,900), and the high-end, large-capacity version may reach $3,000, making it the most expensive iPhone in Apple’s history.
