Xiaomi Mi Pad 9 Pro Max debuts with Surge OS 4: multi-screen mode, 6 apps on one screen

The Xiaomi Mi Pad 9 Pro Max will be the first to launch with the Surge OS4 system. This system has been optimized for large-screen tablets with a large number of productivity functions, and supports up to 6 split screens running at the same time, taking the multitasking capabilities of tablets to a new level.

Multi-screen mode is a major highlight of this update. In addition to the regular dual-screen mode with adjustable window ratios, you can also enable three-screen mode, allowing three applications to run simultaneously on one screen.

When handling complex tasks, simply enable the 6-split screen mode. Six application windows will be tiled flat on the screen, allowing you to simultaneously search for information, write documents, and reply to messages without switching between apps. For users who frequently switch between multiple applications, this feature can save a significant amount of time.

A PC-level browser is also a key upgrade brought by Surge OS4. It supports webpage translation and can load third-party AI plugins.

The tabs can be arranged vertically and grouped, and are deeply adapted to the top 500 most frequently used websites in China, providing a browsing experience closer to that of a computer browser, rather than simply an enlarged version of a mobile browser.

The new Xiaomi Notes app incorporates AI capabilities, supporting voice transcription and allowing direct import of audio and images. Scattered text and audio recordings can be automatically generated into structured mind maps with a single click, significantly improving efficiency for taking meeting minutes and organizing study outlines.

The file management system has also been redesigned, allowing for traceability of file origins. The document reader supports handwritten annotations and can import special fonts, along with advanced printing features, making it more convenient for office use.

Previously, the shortcomings of Android tablets mostly lay in software compatibility and multitasking, with many tablets only allowing for simple dual-app functionality. Surge OS 4 targets office and creative users, bringing commonly used computer functions to the tablet. Combined with the powerful hardware of the Tablet 9 Pro Max, this hardware and software synergy further unleashes the productivity of large-screen tablets.
