OnePlus is set to officially launch the OnePlus 15R on December 17. Along with the 15R the company will also introduce the Pad Go 2 tablet and the Watch Lite. Ahead of the launch OnePlus has officially shared information about the phone’s battery. The 15R will feature a massive 7,400 mAh battery, making it the biggest battery ever in a OnePlus device sold outside China. Inside China, the Ace 6T currently holds the record with an 8,300 mAh battery.
This battery supports 80W SuperVOOC wired charging, allowing it to charge very quickly. According to the company, the battery is designed to retain at least 80% of its original capacity even after four years of regular use. The battery’s anode also contains 15% silicon, which helps improve overall efficiency and durability.
OnePlus has already confirmed that the 15R will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, a high-end chipset that delivers fast performance and efficient power usage. The phone will feature an AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution providing sharp and clear visuals and a 165Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and gaming. Its High Brightness Mode allows the display to reach up to 1,800 nits making it easy to read even under strong sunlight. In addition, the phone supports OnePlus’ Plus Mind features which bring smart and convenient software enhancements and it has the Plus Key a special button designed for quick access to personalized functions.
