One UI 8.5 Firmware Provides First Look at Galaxy S26 Series

Most of the trustworthy information circulating about the Galaxy S26 series paints a cohesive picture of what to expect. They all point to the S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra adopting a camera bump design that closely resembles the one used on the Fold 7. Samsung has now indirectly lent support to these claims further cementing expectations for the final design.

Official renders of the Galaxy S26 series discovered by Android Authority within a recently leaked One UI 8.5 build give us a first look at the general outlines of Samsung’s three upcoming flagship phones. These images provide a rough visual representation of all three flagship models and their overall look is very much what was expected. You can view the full set of images in the gallery below.

Although the renders are fairly rough around the edges, they do clearly show that all three upcoming phones identified internally as M1 (S26), M2 (S26+) and M3 (S26 Ultra) will share a Fold 7 style camera island, complete with circular openings for each individual camera module. They also appear to indicate that the Galaxy S26 Ultra could feature slightly rounder corners than before. However, because these renders were found in a leaked One UI 8.5 build and are quite basic, they fail to show elements like the LED flash. As a result, it’s best to treat the finer aspects of the design with a healthy dose of caution.

Talking about the codenames from earlier reports, leaks suggest that the letter “M” stands for Miracle. This is the name Samsung uses internally to refer to the Galaxy S26 series during its development.

When it comes to One UI 8.5 the Galaxy S25 series may receive the beta firmware starting the week of December 8. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S26 lineup will be the first to ship with One UI 8.5 pre-installed out of the box.

In the same way that the Galaxy S26 design refines and builds upon the look of the current S25 series, the One UI 8.5 update is a polished version of the existing One UI 8.0 firmware. Both the updated hardware and software are based on Android 16, giving users the latest features and improvements.
