OnePlus 15T Camera Expected to Offer Minimal Upgrades
The OnePlus 15T is expected to arrive soon as the next flagship in the OnePlus lineup serving as the direct successor to the 13T which was officially launched last April. According to a new leak circulating in China the rear camera setup of the upcoming model has been revealed in detail. For those hoping that the 15T would feature significant upgrades over the 13T the news is disappointing as it appears the camera configuration may remain largely unchanged. This suggest little in the way of innovation or improved imaging capabilities compared to its predecessor.
Like its predecessor the OnePlus 13T the upcoming OnePlus 15T is rumored to feature a 50MP main camera using Sony’s 1/1.56″ Lytia 700 sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS). It is also expected to include 50MP telephoto camera equipped with Samsung’s 1/2.76 ISOCELL JN5 sensor. Together, these two cameras are designed to deliver sharp, high resolution images whether shooting close ups or distant subjects.

If this rumor turns out to be accurate, the only notable change in the OnePlus 15T compared to the 13T will be the telephoto camera’s aperture which is said to narrow from f/2.0 in the 13T to f/2.8 in the 15T. Meanwhile the main camera continues to feature the same f/1.8 aperture as before. As a result users can expect similar brightness and detail in photos taken with the main camera although telephoto images might let in slightly less light especially in dim environments.
Previous rumors have suggested that the OnePlus 15T will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC and feature the largest battery ever included in a smartphone of its size. The phone is said to feature a 6.32 inch AMOLED display with a “1.5K” resolution delivering clear and colorful visuals. Moreover it will apparently come with a 16MP selfie camera giving users the ability to capture detailed self portraits and conduct high quality video calls.
