Recently, Li Jie, the President of OnePlus China, officially announced that the company is working on a brand new series of smartphones called Turbo. This new series had already been rumored for some time but now we have official confirmation. He also mentioned that the first phone in the Turbo lineup will keep the same strong performance that OnePlus flagships are known for. At the same time, it will have one of the best batteries in its category providing longer battery life than most phones in the same class.

For anyone who has been wondering about the battery specifications of the upcoming Turbo phone there’s an update. Li has shared some information today giving us at least a partial answer. The Turbo will come with the largest battery ever included in a OnePlus smartphone. This means it will surpass the battery in the Ace 6T which has an 8,300 mAh cell and currently holds the record for the largest battery in a OnePlus device.

A well known tipster on Weibo has shared some exciting details about the upcoming Turbo phone. According to the information the Turbo will have a massive 9,000 mAh battery which is a significant increase over previous OnePlus models. The first Turbo device is expected to launch in China in January. The tipster also suggested that the phone will use the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor as the Ace 6T and internationally it could feature the same chip as the OnePlus 15R. On top of that, another source has revealed that the Turbo series will start with two different models. Both of these models will include the huge 9,000 mAh battery, high refresh rate screens running at 165Hz and Snapdragon 8 series processors making them both powerful and capable of handling demanding tasks.
