OPPO officially announces the launch of its first on-device full-domain memory system:

Fast Technology reported that OPPO officially announced the launch of the Xiaobu Next Project, opening up user beta testing of the industry’s first on-device Multi-Agent system, directly pushing the proactive intelligence capabilities of mobile AI to a new level.

According to the official technical details, Xiaobu Next is a low-level agent operating system that is completely deployed on the mobile device. Whether it is deep context understanding, automatic planning of complex tasks or intelligent scheduling of cross-application capabilities, all core computing processes can be completed locally on the mobile phone without relying on real-time network transmission in the cloud.

Relying on this dedicated edge-side agent architecture and the industry’s first deployed edge-side full-domain memory system, Xiaobu Next can continuously perceive and understand users’ daily usage habits, long-term life and work goals, and full-scenario contextual information, with the explicit authorization of the user. With its long-term memory capabilities far exceeding those of ordinary mobile phone AI assistants, it can provide users with truly personalized services that fit their personal usage habits.

For example, when a user casually asks for a book recommendation, Xiaobu Next will not just randomly scrape popular book lists from the entire internet, but will also proactively retrieve the user’s reading notes and past reading behavior memories stored on their phone to filter out new book recommendations that truly match the user’s interests, completely avoiding the low-level problem of repeatedly recommending old books that the user has already read.

When handling various complex tasks, Xiaobu Next will prioritize using local computing power to complete all calculations on the edge. Only when encountering tasks with extremely high computing power requirements will it call the capabilities of the cloud-based large model through a dedicated PCC secure encrypted link, ensuring that no user’s private data is leaked throughout the process.

In critical operations involving users’ core rights, such as sending emails and confirming payments, Xiaobu Next strictly adheres to the principle of only making preliminary preparations and not making final decisions for users. All final confirmation authority is completely returned to the user, allowing the user to always maintain firm control over the operation.

OPPO Chief Product Officer Liu Zuohu stated that proactive intelligence will be the true turning point in the development of AI mobile phones. The next generation of artificial intelligence should not be a tool that passively waits for users to issue commands, but should proactively perceive users’ potential needs and proactively provide services that are adapted to users’ scenarios, truly becoming a smart partner that users can carry with them. We hope to bring this AI future that everyone is looking forward to to life ahead of schedule through the Xiaobu Next plan.

The Xiaobu Next project has already integrated more than 100 underlying system capabilities, covering high-frequency and practical scenarios such as reading and writing notes, and automatically organizing photo albums and documents. Thanks to this fully open architecture, Xiaobu Next is also naturally compatible with a large number of popular third-party agents, skills and MCP services, including Luckin Coffee, Evernote, Fliggy Skill, Meituan MCP and other commonly used third-party applications, which have been adapted and integrated.

Relying on its built-in all-time intent-aware engine, Xiaobu Next can combine real-time time, location, weather, user schedule, and device operating status to proactively determine when to push reminders and when to prepare services in the background in advance, without causing any irrelevant disturbances to the user.

During the current internal testing recruitment phase, OPPO Find X8 and X9 series users, as well as OnePlus 13, 13T, 15, and 15T users, can go to the Help and Feedback section in their phone settings, find the dedicated co-creation page to obtain recruitment information for the Xiaobu Next Project, submit an application to participate in product co-creation, and experience this brand-new on-device intelligent system in advance.
