Qualcomm releases the fourth-generation Yuelong wireless platform Extreme Edition:

The MWC 2025 conference in Barcelona, Qualcomm officially released the fourth-generation fixed wireless access platform Extreme Edition, setting a new benchmark for FWA (fixed wireless access).
This is also Qualcomm’s first new product named after the new ” Qualcomm Yuelong ” brand .
The brand mainly focuses on three major areas: industrial and embedded Internet of Things, network solutions, and cellular mobile communication infrastructure.
The new platform is the first to be equipped with Qualcomm’s X85 5G baseband solution , becoming the world’s first 5G Advanced FWA platform, which can also achieve a peak downlink rate of 12.5Gbps and a peak uplink rate of 3.7Gbps.
Therefore, it can support millimeter wave long-range communications up to 14 kilometers and support up to 6Rx/8Rx antenna management, thereby expanding coverage and improving network capacity.
It also makes full use of Qualcomm X85’s AI capabilities, such as traffic classification, intelligent network selection, and more.

In addition to 5G innovations, this new FWA platform also supports AI functions for Wi-Fi, such as reducing Wi-Fi latency by up to 50% for key applications, as well as signal optimization, intelligent network operation and maintenance, and more.
At the same time, it also supports the latest tri-band Wi-Fi 7.
It is also equipped with an edge AI coprocessor, and the Hexagon NPU has a processing power of up to 40 TOPS .
This can provide generative AI processing capabilities for different networked terminals such as security cameras and smart doorbells, including face recognition, gesture recognition, posture estimation, natural language processing, emotion detection, object tracking, and more.

In the field of fixed wireless access (FWA), Qualcomm’s fourth-generation fixed wireless access platform Extreme Edition is perfect.
Data shows that currently in 35% of countries and regions, the average FWA downlink rate is less than 50Mbps, and it is estimated that by 2029, the number of FWA users worldwide will reach 330 million.
Thanks to Qualcomm’s efforts, more than 500 FWA terminals have been released or are under development, adopting Qualcomm solutions.
