Certification for the Redmi A7 Pro was granted earlier this month indicating that its official debut could be approaching. Now the standard Redmi A7 appears to be moving through regulatory channels as well and could debut alongside the Pro variant. Thailand’s NBTC database reveals the Redmi A7 under the model number 26020RNB4A pointing toward a possible joint announcement.

The device has also received certification from the EEC further confirming its progress toward launch. Like the Pro variant, it is expected to support only 4G connectivity. Reports also suggest that in some regions the Redmi A7 and Redmi A7 Pro may be marketed under different branding as the Poco C81 and Poco C81 Pro.

At least some of these four smartphones are expected to be equipped with the Unisoc T7250 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM to handle everyday tasks. Certain models are also expected to support a 6.9 inch HD+ LCD panel that supports a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother visuals. Storage options could extend up to 128GB and the camera setup may consist of a 50MP primary sensor and a 13MP front facing shooter. A robust 6,000 mAh battery with 15W wired charging support is also expected to be included.

These devices clearly fall into the entry level category with specifications that firmly position them in the budget segment. There is little doubt about their market placement. Ideally their prices will be set accordingly to match their specifications and target audience. We’ll keep you informed as soon as additional information surfaces.
