Fast Technology reported that Wei Siqi, General Manager of Xiaomi China’s Marketing Department, revealed that she is preparing to begin testing the next new phone. The news immediately caused a stir in the comments section, with many long-time Xiaomi fans speculating that this mysterious new product is the highly anticipated REDMI K90 Ultra, REDMI’s first major flagship release of the Year of the Horse.
Unlike the K90 Pro Max, which is equipped with the Snapdragon 8E5, the K90 Ultra will be equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor. Even more notably, it features a built-in high-speed micro-fan, making it the industry’s first Dimensity flagship to support active cooling, and also Xiaomi’s first model with a built-in fan.
To achieve optimal heat dissipation, the REDMI K90 Extreme Edition underwent a radical overhaul of its internal architecture. Engineers not only embedded precision fans within the chassis but also designed a complete intake and exhaust airflow system.
Through physical air convection, the system can quickly remove heat from the core motherboard area. Compared to traditional passive cooling, this active solution represents a significant leap in efficiency and can more effectively suppress temperature rise during operation.
Under sustained high load, active cooling ensures that the flagship chip maintains its maximum performance frequency for extended periods, freeing it from the problem of overheating and frequency throttling. This means that gamers will experience more stable and consistent frame rates during long gaming sessions.
In terms of other core specifications, the REDMI K90 Ultra remains impressive. It features a high-quality 1.5K flat screen with a refresh rate expected to reach 165Hz, providing users with a silky smooth visual experience.
Battery life is another killer feature of this new phone. It is reported that the K90 Ultra will be equipped with a super large battery with a capacity of up to 8500mAh. This specification is almost unmatched among flagship phones of the same level, completely solving the battery anxiety under heavy use.
This performance monster, combining active cooling, top-tier performance, and ultra-long battery life, has entered its final testing phase. Based on the current progress, the REDMI K90 Ultra Edition is expected to officially launch as early as April this year.
