REDMI’s first satellite communication phone, China Mobile’s Note 15 Pro+

The REDMI Note 15 Pro series was released. Among them, the Note 15 Pro+ provides a satellite messaging version, becoming REDMI’s first satellite communication phone.

Today, China Mobile Terminal Co., Ltd. issued a statement saying that the Beidou communication and navigation fusion chip (ZW8000s) developed by the terminal company itself was first installed on the REDMI Note 15 Pro+ satellite messaging version.

China Mobile stated that this is the successful implementation of China’s independent BeiDou-3 integrated communication and navigation technology on mass consumer mobile phone terminals, marking an important breakthrough for terminal companies in the research and development of satellite communication and navigation integrated terminal technology.

As the first commercial mobile phone to integrate the ZW8000s chip, the Note 15 Pro+ integrates the Beidou system’s “navigation + communication” dual-core capabilities into consumer electronic devices.

China Mobile said that Beidou communication and navigation fusion technology had previously been mostly used in industrial fields, and terminal companies had established special R&D teams composed of backbone personnel to effectively solve industry problems such as high power consumption and signal interference.

Ultimately, the two-in-one function of “Beidou short message communication + Beidou navigation and positioning” is realized, which ensures the high performance of the chip while significantly reducing costs to meet the mass production needs of mass consumer terminals.

At the same time, the short message function can ensure communication reliability in emergency scenarios such as field rescue and no ground network coverage.

It is understood that REDMI Note 15 Pro+ is equipped with a 6.83-inch 1.5K super sunlight screen, the world’s first fourth-generation Snapdragon 7s, a built-in 7000mAh large battery, supports 90W wired fast charging, and uses Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass + ultra-tough glass fiber back panel to enhance protection capabilities.
