Samsung has rolled out a new software update for its rugged smartphone, the Galaxy XCover 5, which launched in 2021. The update brings the February 2025 security patch, addressing several security vulnerabilities. You can check out the details of these fixes here.
This update is now available for the global version of the Galaxy XCover 5 (model number SM-G525F) and comes with firmware version G525FXXSEEYB1. It’s live across multiple regions, including the Americas, Asia, Australia, and Europe.
To update your Galaxy XCover 5, follow these simple steps:
If the update isn’t available yet, don’t worry—it may take some time to roll out to all devices. You can either wait for it to arrive or manually install it. To do so, download the firmware from our database (or any trusted source), install Odin on a Windows PC, and use it to flash the firmware onto your device.
No More OS Updates for Galaxy XCover 5
The Galaxy XCover 5 originally launched with Android 11 and has since received three major OS updates, as promised by Samsung. Currently running on Android 14 with One UI 6.1, the device will not receive any further OS upgrades, including Android 15-based One UI 7. However, Samsung continues to provide regular security updates to keep the phone safe and reliable.
