More details about Samsung's first tri-fold phone emerge

Samsung’s first tri-fold screen Galaxy Z TriFold has been launched in South Korea. The device sold out quickly upon release, with demand exceeding supply.

According to reports, the Galaxy Z TriFold went on sale at 20 designated retail stores in South Korea on December 12. Hundreds of people lined up outside the stores to buy it, and the stock was quickly sold out. Today, Samsung restocked the stock, but it was sold out again in just 2 minutes.

The stock levels of the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold are currently unknown. Given the unique nature of its tri-fold screen design, the manufacturing process is more complex, and production capacity is extremely limited. Besides South Korea, the Galaxy Z TriFold is also available in a few other markets, including China, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, and Singapore.

Compared to the already launched Huawei tri-fold screen, the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold adopts a completely different approach, with the former using an S-shaped folding form and the latter a G-shaped folding form.

Furthermore, the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold can only fold the left side of the screen first. If the right side of the screen is folded first, the Galaxy Z TriFold will display a full-screen warning interface and the device will vibrate continuously to remind the user that “you folded it wrong”.

In terms of screen, the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold has an external screen resolution of 2520×1080 and a peak brightness of 2600 nits, while the 10-inch internal screen has a resolution of 2160×1584 and a peak brightness of 1600 nits.

In addition, the Samsung tri-fold screen is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Ultra for Galaxy processor, comes standard with 16GB of RAM, and offers up to 1TB of storage. The starting price for the Chinese version is 19,999 yuan (16GB+512GB), and it is only available in Time Black.
