Samsung supplies panels for Apple’s first foldable screen: executives have confirmed
Samsung Display President Lee Cheong stated that Samsung will produce foldable displays for a large American company and that the company is accelerating its preparations for mass production of foldable displays. Although Lee Cheong did not reveal the identity of this large company, it is almost certain that it is Apple.
It is reported that the screen size of Apple’s first foldable iPhone is 7.58 inches, the resolution is 2713×1920, and the screen aspect ratio is 14.1:10. It is a wide foldable model, which is completely different from the foldable models already on the market in the Android camp.
In terms of core configuration, Apple’s foldable iPhone will be equipped with an A20 Pro chip, the first self-developed baseband chip C2, 12GB of memory, a rear 48-megapixel main camera and a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a thickness of 9.0-9.5mm in the folded state. It supports Touch ID but has no 3D face recognition.
It is expected that Apple’s foldable iPhone will be launched in 2026 together with the iPhone 18 series, and like the candy-bar phone, it will launch iterative models every autumn.
