Samsung’s first wide foldable phone! Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide imaging specifications revealed.

Samsung’s first wide foldable phone is expected to be named Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide and will be released in July, preempting the iPhone Fold.

According to the latest leaks, the phone will feature a dual rear camera setup, consisting of a 50MP f/1.8 wide-angle main camera and a 50MP f/1.9 ultra-wide-angle lens. Both lenses will support autofocus and 8K 30fps video recording, while the telephoto lens will be removed.

In contrast, the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 will retain the 200-megapixel main camera setup and a dedicated telephoto lens, forming a triple-camera system on the back.

Overall, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide makes some compromises in its imaging capabilities, likely due to considerations of body size and cost control.

This device is Samsung’s first wide foldable product. Its core highlight is a 7.6-inch inner screen with a 4:3 aspect ratio (close to the display effect of an iPad), paired with a 5.4-inch outer screen, completely breaking away from the traditional narrow and long shape of foldable screens, and significantly improving the experience of document reading and multitasking.

According to leaks, this device measures approximately 124mm x 161mm when unfolded, resembling a widescreen tablet, and is about 82.2mm wide when folded.

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide is 9.8mm thick when folded and only 4.9mm at its thinnest point when unfolded, making it the world’s lightest and widest foldable phone.

With core configurations on par with flagship models, it features a fifth-generation Snapdragon 8 Ultra for Galaxy processor and offers up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

Both the inner and outer screens are 120Hz LTPO dynamic AMOLED with a peak brightness of 2600 nits.

It features a dual rear camera setup with a 50MP main sensor and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a built-in 5000mAh battery, and supports 45W wired and 25W wireless fast charging.
