Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8, with its new wide folding design, has been very popular in the market since its launch, with demand far exceeding Samsung’s expectations.
According to media reports, multiple users have reported significant delays in the shipping of their Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8. One consumer stated that their order, initially expected to arrive on August 3rd, has now been postponed to August 9th.
Due to supply shortages, the delivery time for some versions has been delayed until September, and the T-Mobile version in Cloud White has been postponed to October. This means that some consumers will have to wait nearly two months to receive their products.
As the first wide foldable phone in the Android camp, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 is completely different from the traditional large foldable design. It features a 5.5-inch, 10:16 aspect ratio external screen, which unfolds into a 7.6-inch internal screen with a 4:3 aspect ratio.
The Galaxy Z Fold8 is 9.7 mm thick when folded and only 4.5 mm thick on each side when unfolded. Weighing just 201 grams, it feels almost as small as a regular smartphone when placed in a pocket. Furthermore, the frame of the Galaxy Z Fold8 is made of upgraded enhanced armor aluminum, and the outer screen uses Corning Gorilla Glass, making it very smooth to unfold with one hand.
In terms of screen quality, both the inner and outer screens use second-generation dynamic AMOLED displays, supporting adaptive refresh rates from 1 to 120Hz. The inner screen has a peak brightness of 3000 nits and is equipped with an anti-reflective coating and Vision Booster visual enhancement technology, maintaining a clear viewing experience even in strong outdoor light.
When unfolded, the 4:3 aspect ratio inner screen has significantly smaller top and bottom bezels than traditional large folding square screens when playing 16:9 videos, resulting in a much larger effective display area and an experience very close to that of a small tablet. Combined with its weight of only 201 grams, it’s much easier to hold.
In terms of other configurations, the Galaxy Z Fold8 features a rear-mounted 50MP wide-angle main camera and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, with 10MP front-facing cameras on both the inner and outer screens. It is powered by the fifth-generation Snapdragon 8 Ultra for Galaxy chip and has a built-in 4800mAh battery. The overall configuration is well-balanced, taking into account both performance and daily use needs.
