The iPhone 18 Pro series debuts LTPO+ technology: Apple’s most power-efficient screen ever.

According to the latest leaks, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will retain the same screen sizes as their predecessors, at 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches respectively.

The core upgrades of this generation of the Pro series focus on two main aspects: the debut of the new LTPO+ screen technology and the further reduction in the size of the punch-hole display.

Let’s first look at LTPO+ technology. Currently, the iPhone 17 series uses an LTPO screen, while the iPhone 18 Pro series will be the first to feature the more advanced LTPO+ screen.

This new technology enables more precise current control of OLED panels and dynamically optimizes screen operation based on ambient light and user scenarios. More accurate current management significantly improves the overall power efficiency of the screen.

According to leaks, the iPhone 18 Pro’s screen power consumption can be reduced by up to 20% compared to its predecessor. Whether in daily use, watching videos, or in “Always-on Display” mode, the screen’s power consumption will be significantly reduced, making it the most power-efficient high refresh rate screen in Apple’s history.

In addition, LTPO+ technology can adapt more sensitively to low light environment, effectively reducing screen flicker or graininess that may occur under low brightness conditions, making the viewing experience more comfortable and natural for users in dark scenes and reducing visual fatigue.

Finally, regarding the changes to the screen-to-body ratio, leaks suggest that the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will further reduce the size of the punch-hole on the screen-to-body ratio, which means a slight increase in the usable display area. This will also make it the phone with the highest screen-to-body ratio in Apple’s history.

It is understood that the new “Aperture Point” will be about 35% smaller than that of the iPhone 17 Pro. Although it is still some distance from a truly holeless full-screen display, with the arrival of the iPhone 18 Pro, Apple has taken another substantial step towards its goal of a “holeless full-screen display”.

In terms of hardware configuration, the iPhone 18 Pro series will be the first to feature the A20 Pro chip. This chip is manufactured using TSMC’s 2nm process, and its performance is highly anticipated.

All models are equipped with 12GB of RAM and a 48MP triple-camera system, with the main camera also supporting variable aperture for the first time, further expanding the possibilities for professional image creation.

In terms of network support, the series supports eSIM, and the Chinese version is expected to retain the physical SIM card slot to adapt to the usage habits of local users.
