According to Fast Technology on September 26, the iQOO 16 will be officially released on September 29 and will go on sale on the same day.
Today, Wang Kan, product manager of iQOO flagship series, announced the imaging configuration of the new phone, and claimed that its imaging capabilities surpass those of the Pro series.
In terms of the main camera, the iQOO 16 upgrades to a 50-megapixel 1/1.3-inch ultra-sensitive large sensor main camera, which increases light intake by 79% compared to the iQOO 15, and is equipped with vivo’s self-developed Super Light and Shadow HDR, which can further improve night scene brightness, dynamic range and color performance.
Meanwhile, the new camera is equipped with a 50-megapixel Sony super periscope telephoto lens, supports CIPA 5.5 professional image stabilization, and adopts an ultra-thin prism M-type optical path design, which improves the utilization of body space while enhancing the stability of telephoto shooting.
In addition, the iQOO 16 also has a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, forming a triple 50-megapixel rear imaging system.
In terms of algorithms, the new phone introduces the same NICE 3.0 optical reconstruction engine and Magic 3.0 image restoration engine as vivo’s flagship phones, which can enhance detail while reducing noise, and is optimized for 3x optical zoom and 10x and 20x telephoto scenes.
Meanwhile, the iQOO 16 will also feature the same color tone as vivo’s flagship models, and add several film styles, color palettes, and a humanistic mode.
The new phone supports 4K Ultra HD Live, with both cover frames and video streams recording in high definition. It also allows for the overlay of different image styles, reselection of cover frames, and AI-powered pedestrian removal. Furthermore, the iQOO 16 will include an AI-powered creative camera, further enriching photo creation options.
In terms of performance, the iQOO 16 is among the first phones to be equipped with the sixth-generation Snapdragon 8 Super Edition chip and is the world’s first to feature a 2K 165Hz screen co-developed with Samsung Display.
