Fast Technology reported that OnePlus China President Li Jie announced that the OnePlus 16 will be the first to feature the ColorOS 17 operating system and will also achieve a global 165Hz ultra-high refresh rate for the first time.

Li Jie said that he has been using it for a long time and that the interface responds quickly after he swipes his finger, whether he is swiping the desktop, browsing Weibo or looking at his WeChat Moments. The animation is also more responsive.

In his view, the smoothness brought by 165Hz is an experience that you “can’t go back to once you’ve used it”.

Today, digital blogger “Digital Chat Station” also showed the OnePlus 16’s screen refresh rate settings interface, 
which allows you to directly enable the 165Hz mode in the system settings.

According to the blogger, the OnePlus 16 features an upgraded Oriental Screen X4 display with improved luminescent materials and circuit design, supporting a hardware-level global 165Hz ultra-high refresh rate.

In addition to system applications, third-party applications can also enable a 165Hz high refresh rate, further expanding the coverage of high refresh rates.

According to leaks, BOE’s X4 screen also boasts lower power consumption and a longer lifespan, and features an ultra-narrow four-sided equal-bezel design, further improving display quality, energy efficiency, and front-facing aesthetics.

In terms of core performance, the OnePlus 16 will be among the first to be equipped with the sixth-generation Snapdragon 8 Ultra chip, which uses TSMC’s 2nm process technology and has a CPU clock speed that breaks through 5GHz for the first time.
