UNISOC W527 wearable chip released: 12nm process, 4G support

Unisoc officially released its flagship performance king smart wearable platform – W527.

The chip is built with a 12nm process and has the industry-leading one-large-core and three-small-core heterogeneous processor architecture, equipped with one Arm Cortex-A75 main core (2.0GHz) and three Cortex-A55 small cores (1.8GHz).

The number of chip sets is reduced to 3 pieces, and ultra-micro high-integration 3D SiP (three-dimensional system-level packaging) technology is adopted to further enhance the flexibility of PCB layout.

Compared with the previous generation of products, it provides greater spatial freedom for the design of wearable terminals, making wearable devices thinner and more stylish.

According to the official introduction, compared with similar quad-core A55 and octa-core solutions, the actual measured running speed of W527 in high-load large-scale application scenarios is 148% faster, the application cold start speed is 110% faster, the video playback speed is 105% faster, and the application installation speed is 120% faster.

It integrates dual ISP image signal processors, supports simultaneous operation of the front 16-megapixel and rear 8-megapixel dual cameras, and brings a high-definition and smooth video call experience.

This is very practical in children’s watch products. Parents can not only see their children in real time, but also check the surrounding environment simultaneously to fully protect children’s safety.

In addition, W527 has upgraded its intelligent single-microphone noise reduction technology to eliminate echoes and background noise; supports intelligent video stabilization to improve video call stability; and supports intelligent face recognition technology to achieve efficient and convenient security authentication and payment experience.

W527 also adopts a low-power intelligent network search optimization strategy, and combines remote RRC intelligent control technology + 12nm public welfare, which can effectively reduce energy consumption and significantly improve device battery life.

In addition, the W527 system integrates standby resource energy-saving technology to further extend battery life.

In terms of memory configuration, the LPDDR3/LPDDR4X dual-channel configuration not only improves data transmission efficiency, but also effectively reduces dynamic power consumption by 7%, ensuring that users can use it smoothly for a long time.

Currently, the UNISOC W527 platform has achieved mass production and shipment, and wearable products equipped with this platform will soon be launched on the market.
