It’s March now, and a large wave of Ultra models are about to come out, but I went against the trend and used a Pro model, which is vivo’s X200 Pro.

As a “big cup” model, it not only inherits the imaging advantages of the previous generation, but is also equipped with the Dimensity 9400 chip, which further balances performance and imaging. So, after a month of actual use, how does this phone perform? The following is my detailed experience sharing.

Design: Exquisite and elegant, excellent hand feel

My first impression of the vivo X200 Pro can be described as “stunning”. I got the “Sapphire Blue” color, which gives people a deep and tranquil feeling.

The back panel of the fuselage adopts floating light glass technology, and the light and shadow on the surface flow like the ripples on the sea. When it is slightly rotated in the sun, you can appreciate the transparent gem-like luster. This design obviously requires precise craftsmanship support, and laser engraving technology is the key to achieve this effect.

The design of the lens module is also quite eye-catching. It adopts a new water-ripple cloud-step design. The lens area echoes the 2.5D gem-textured lens and the “sun-ring cloud-step” made of stainless steel, which not only enhances the aesthetics, but also highlights the identity of the imaging flagship.

In terms of overall design, the vivo X200 Pro continues the design style of the X series, while incorporating more details for optimization. For example, the front is upgraded to a full-depth micro-quad-curved screen design, paired with a soft metal middle frame, which not only makes the hand feel more gentle, but also effectively avoids the problem of accidental touches.

It is worth mentioning that this screen is a super retina 8T eye-protection screen with a peak brightness of up to 3000 nits, which can display content clearly even under strong light.

At the same time, vivo also uses 2160Hz full-brightness high-frequency PWM dimming technology on the screen. This dimming method significantly reduces the stimulation of screen flicker to the eyes through deep optimization of hardware and software, so that you will not feel tired even after long-term use.

Image: Powerful hardware and algorithms go hand in hand

Imaging capabilities have always been the core competitiveness of the vivo X series, and as the successor to the “imaging Thanos”, the X200 Pro will naturally not disappoint.

This time, vivo equipped the X200 Pro with a new LYT818 sensor and precision leap technology. This combination can correct and compensate for the offset light by predicting the position of light on the sensor, thereby significantly improving the clarity and accuracy of the image quality.

The telephoto lens directly adopts the 200-megapixel lens of the X100 Ultra and has passed the Zeiss APO certification, reaching the level of professional cameras in terms of color reproduction and detail capture. This telephoto lens performs particularly well when shooting distant scenes, whether it is the morning fog or the city lights at night, it can easily capture the beauty of details.

With the support of AI algorithms, vivo X200 Pro has also achieved a qualitative leap in image processing. The new V3+ imaging chip adopts a multi-concurrent AI perception-ISP architecture, which not only reduces power consumption while improving algorithm performance, but also realizes seamless collaboration between SoC and imaging chip.

This collaborative mode ensures a smooth experience for users when shooting complex scenes. Whether shooting 4K cinematic portrait videos or switching between different scenes, the X200 Pro can handle it with ease.

In actual shooting, the performance of this phone is very stable. When shooting during the day, the X200 Pro can faithfully restore the true colors, while providing a high enough tolerance to make the picture layers clearer. In night scene mode, thanks to the support of Zeiss T* coating, the glare control of the sample is very good, and the picture purity is extremely high.

Performance: Dimensity 9400 debuts with stunning performance

In terms of performance, the vivo X200 Pro is the first to be equipped with the Dimensity 9400 flagship processor. This chip uses TSMC’s second-generation 3nm process and adopts a full-core architecture design. At the same time, by increasing the cache capacity, it greatly improves computing efficiency and processing speed.

In actual use, whether it is daily operation or running large games, the performance of the X200 Pro is very smooth. In the running test we conducted, this phone achieved a high score of 2.93 million, among which the improvement of the GPU part is particularly obvious, which also makes it perform well in graphics processing and gaming performance.

In order to better verify the performance, we also tested it in the high-load game “Honkai Impact 3”. In the high-definition + 60 frame mode, the X200 Pro can run stably, with an average frame rate of 59.8 frames. The temperature of the whole machine is properly controlled, and it will not heat up significantly after long-term use. In addition, vivo has equipped this phone with closed stereo dual speakers and 4D game vibration, which further enhances the gaming experience.

Battery life and fast charging: the perfect combination of large battery and high efficiency

For heavy users, battery life is a crucial factor. The vivo X200 Pro has a built-in 6000mAh large battery, thanks to the new blue ocean battery technology, which achieves higher energy density through fine optimization of the battery structure. At the same time, the X200 Pro supports 90W wired fast charging and 30W wireless fast charging, greatly improving charging efficiency.

In our 5-hour heavy-duty battery life test, the phone performed well, with 74% remaining power, which is fully capable of meeting the needs of a day of high-intensity use. In the charging test, it can be charged from 0% to 71% in 30 minutes, greatly reducing waiting time.

Final Thoughts

After a month of use, the vivo X200 Pro has shown me what a true all-round flagship is with its exquisite design, powerful imaging capabilities, outstanding performance and excellent battery life experience.

This phone not only continues the X series’ leading edge in imaging, but also achieves comprehensive upgrades in performance, design, and user experience. If you are an imaging enthusiast or have high requirements for high-performance mobile phones, then the vivo X200 Pro is undoubtedly a choice worth considering.
