Xiaomi Mi 17 Ultra Leica Edition will be released tomorrow: named LEICA LEITZPHONE powered by Xiaomi.
Fast Technology reported that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition has received high praise since its release. In particular, the Coca-Cola logo and physical zoom ring bring a unique sense of style. Leica even collaborated to create the “Leica Moment” shooting mode, which can replicate the imaging effect of classic Leica cameras.
This is the first product from Xiaomi after its collaboration with Leica, and it’s not just about the usual hardware and software upgrades; the overseas version can even be considered a Leica phone.
Xiaomi officially teased today that the global version of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition will be launched globally on February 28th, on the eve of MWC 2026 in Barcelona, Spain.
One of the biggest highlights of the overseas version is the adoption of a new name – LEICA LEITZPHONE powered by Xiaomi.

This not only announces a deep collaboration between the two parties, but also allows Xiaomi to leverage the brand power of Leica’s high-end optics to make a key move into the high-end markets of Europe and the United States, relying on Leica’s century-old optics brand appeal and premium pricing power to reach high-end consumer groups overseas.
In terms of design details, the global version differs slightly from the domestic version. The classic red Leica logo on the back of the camera body and the “LEICA” lettering in the center of the lens module have been changed from horizontal to vertical arrangement, while the “LEICA CAMERA GERMANY” inscription on the mid-frame of the camera body is still laser-engraved, becoming a symbol of Leica’s authentic lineage.

It retains the highly acclaimed zoom ring from the domestic version, employing a precision mechanical transmission structure that can detect displacements as small as 0.03mm. Through precise gear meshing, it converts the external rotation angle into a precise digital signal.
Furthermore, the Master Zoom Ring supports customizable functions, such as zoom range, focus, and exposure compensation. You can quickly and intuitively switch between different image parameters simply by turning it left or right.

In terms of specific imaging parameters, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition is the same as the regular version. The main camera is a 50-megapixel Light Hunter 1050L sensor with a full 1-inch large sensor and LOFIC super-dimensional light sensing technology. It is also equipped with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens.
It features a built-in exclusive “Leica Moment” classic film simulation mode, a Leica-style UI, and professional shooting modes, delivering top-notch optical quality and shooting experience.
