Xiaomi MIX Fold 5 debuts with the ring-shaped O3

Fast Technology reported that a blogger posted screenshots of what appears to be the Surge OS 4 system on social media. Based on the exposed interface information, it can be inferred that the Xiaomi MIX Fold 5 is a flagship product with a wide folding form factor. The overall opening ratio and body shape are very similar to the positioning of the Apple iPhone Ultra and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8, two folding flagships.

This blogger also revealed a lot of core configuration information. The Xiaomi MIX Fold 5 will be the first in the industry to be equipped with the Xuanjie O3 self-developed chip and a 200-megapixel Leica imaging system on the rear. It is also the first foldable screen model in the world to be equipped with the Xuanjie series chip.

Previous generations of the MIX Fold series foldable screen products all used Qualcomm Snapdragon flagship chips as the core computing power support. This time, the Xiaomi MIX Fold 5 directly switched to the use of the completely self-developed Xuanjie chip. At the same time, it adopted a brand-new wide folding form for the first time, making it the first wide folding model officially mass-produced and launched by Xiaomi.

According to reports, Xiaomi officially launched its first-generation Xuanjie series mobile phone chip in May last year, named Xuanjie O1, which was first used in the Xiaomi 15S Pro flagship phone.

This chip is the most powerful mobile phone processing chip that Xiaomi has independently developed, marking Xiaomi as the first technology company in mainland China and the fourth in the world to independently complete the research and design of 3nm mobile phone chips.

The official mass production of the Xuanjie O1 not only proves Xiaomi’s years of hard-core technology reserves in the field of cutting-edge chip R&D, but also directly fills the market gap that domestic companies have maintained for many years in the field of high-performance 3nm mobile processors.
