According to reports, supply chain sources revealed that vivo’s latest S19 series mobile phones will use a new generation of silicon-carbon negative electrode batteries. The energy density of this battery is about 20% higher than that of traditional graphite negative electrode batteries and about 16% higher than that of extreme graphite negative electrode batteries. This new technology will be supplied by CATL.

The energy density of traditional graphite negative electrode batteries is about 372mAh/g, while the theoretical energy density of pure silicon negative electrode materials can reach 4200mAh/g, which is 10 times that of graphite negative electrode.

However, the silicon negative electrode will expand during the charging and discharging process, and the volume expansion rate of silicon and lithium reaction is as high as 300%. Adding carbon wrapping is one of the effective ways to solve the expansion of silicon negative electrode, so the silicon-carbon negative electrode battery was born.

According to official news from vivo, vivoS19/Pro will be officially released at 19:00 on May 30, and will become the industry’s first mobile phone equipped with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX921 large bottom and a telephoto portrait camera.

This series of mobile phones will be available in a variety of colors, including Misty Green, Pine Smoke Ink, Peach Blossom Fan, Thousand Mountains Green and Sword Shadow Gray.
