8.8mm world’s thinnest folding screen! BOE and Honor jointly develop Magic V5 flexible OLED

Honor Magic V5 was officially released last night, with an extremely slim body of 8.8mm, breaking the world record.

As a folding screen, flexible OLED is one of the most critical components. The phone uses a new thin and light flexible OLED folding screen solution jointly developed by BOE and Honor.

Adopting the industry-leading LTPO (low-temperature polycrystalline oxide) technology, it has achieved a comprehensive leap in the three dimensions of ultra-smooth display, ultra-low power consumption, and ultra-healthy eye protection, creating a new industry benchmark for foldable screen flagship models.

It is equipped with a 7.95-inch flexible OLED display inner screen and adopts a water drop-shaped bending design with a bending radius as low as 1.95mm, which makes the phone body thinner and lighter while significantly reducing the screen crease problem.

In addition, the ultra-high resolution of 2352 x 2172 and the peak brightness of 5000nits enable the screen to restore true colors to the greatest extent, and clear, transparent, bright and vivid display images can be seen even in strong outdoor light scenes.

Honor Magic V5 also uses BOE’s 4320Hz PWM dimming technology, which can ensure the stability of the screen in various lighting environments and is more eye-friendly.

In terms of ultra-smooth display, BOE’s LTPO technology has a wider frequency variation range, enabling the Honor Magic V5 to achieve a variable frequency dynamic refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz, and can intelligently switch according to user needs in different scenarios.

In terms of ultra-low power consumption, BOE’s LTPO technology can consume less power at the same brightness and display content.
