Developers discovered traces of Samsung’s tri-fold screen in the Samsung OneUI 8 system. This is the first tri-fold screen in Android history.
According to the information revealed by OneUI 8, Samsung’s tri-fold screen and the Huawei Mate XT Extraordinary Master, which is currently on the market, are two completely different solutions.
Specifically, the Samsung tri-fold screen
has an outer screen on the back , located in the middle area of the tri-fold, with a center-mounted hole. The front camera of the inner screen is located on the right.
It adopts a “G”-shaped folding design, and the left and right screens fold toward the middle.
Huawei Mate XT adopts an “S”-shaped folding design . There is no external screen on the back. When folded, the left screen acts as an external screen and the front camera is located on the left.
According to leaks, Samsung’s tri-fold screen may be named Galaxy G Fold, with three rear cameras and a camera layout similar to Galaxy Z Fold6. It is expected to be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Extreme Edition mobile platform and the new product will be launched later this year.
In terms of price, there is no doubt that the Galaxy G Fold will be priced over 15,000 yuan, and the possibility of exceeding 20,000 yuan is not ruled out.
