Google recently released the initial beta of Android 17 for Pixel phones allowing early adopters to test the newest functionalities. Following this, Motorola has announced its own Android 17 beta program for select devices. This move is particularly surprising because in recent times Motorola has been noticeably slow in delivering major Android updates to its devices. It seems the company is trying to catch up and show a renewed commitment to software support.

We don’t yet know if this will improve by the time Android 17 reaches its stable release but fingers crossed. If you’re in the US and own a Motorola Edge (2025), you can sign up for the beta program here. Moto G57 users in Europe, the Middle East or Africa can join here. G57 Power owners in the same regions can use this link. And for G57 Power owners in India, this is where you should go. Joining the beta gives you a sneak peek at new features before the official rollout.

Clearly, we don’t recommend running beta software like this on a device you rely on for important tasks. Being an early beta, it may contain plenty of glitches, incomplete features or things that could break unexpectedly. Testing on a secondary device is the safest approach.
