OPPO Find N6 features the world’s first seamless folding screen: the flattest folding screen ever.
Fast Technology reported that OPPO held a technology communication meeting this afternoon at its Binhai Bay campus to discuss the Find N6’s seamless crease technology. OPPO Vice President and President of Hardware Engineering, Liu Chang, introduced the Sky Lab, a lab focused on cutting-edge technology exploration and dedicated to continuously pushing the boundaries of materials science.
In the field of foldable screens, OPPO has invested over 3 billion yuan in R&D and accumulated more than 3,500 technical patents, ranking among the top three globally in the number of foldable technology patents. This profound accumulation has driven generational leadership in products, from ushering in a new era of lightweight design to defining reliable standards, constantly redefining industry perceptions.

For eight years since the advent of foldable screens, creases have been a major obstacle preventing users from upgrading, a persistent problem plaguing the entire industry. Faced with this age-old challenge for foldable products, OPPO refuses to compromise with the industry’s prevailing notion that foldable screens are inherently prone to creases.
The Find N6 aims not only for a smooth, new phone, but also for a smooth, durable finish, striving to lead the foldable screen industry into a new era of imperceptible creases.

Cheng Jiao, OPPO’s Director of Innovative Product R&D, believes that foldable screens are like precision clocks, with the screen, hinge, and overall structure design intricately linked. The crease is not simply a screen issue, but a systemic engineering problem. The Find N6, through two cutting-edge technologies, truly brings foldable screens into a seamless era.
The new generation of titanium alloy dome hinges adopts the industry’s first biomimetic symmetrical four-axis structure, reducing the surface undulation of the hinge from 0.18 mm to 0.1 mm. This not only significantly improves flatness but also makes the opening and closing feel more delicate and smooth.

Combined with chip-level polymer 3D printing technology, this machine can fill every micro-groove in the hinge structure. This precision process completely solves the micron-level problem on the hinge surface, laying a solid physical foundation for the flatness of the screen.

To ensure quality, OPPO has set up a dedicated production line for flat hinges. This line includes 15 core processes and 70 flatness tests to ensure that every unique hinge meets the same stringent flatness standards before leaving the factory.

In terms of screen materials, the Find N6 features Sky Dome Memory Glass, which is more than three times more rigid than traditional flexible glass. This material has a 99.9% self-healing rate after being bent and unfolded several times, effectively resisting physical deformation.
This self-healing ability is extremely durable, another key guarantee for a smooth screen even after long-term use. Through deep integration of hardware structure and materials science, OPPO has successfully solved the pain point of deepening creases after long-term use of foldable screens, allowing the ultimate visual experience to continue for an extended period.
