Xiaomi officially announces price increase! REDMI K90 Pro Max to increase by 200 yuan
According to Fast Technology on April 3, due to the soaring price of memory, many domestic mobile phone manufacturers have raised their prices, and even Xiaomi is now struggling to keep up.
Wei Siqi, General Manager of Xiaomi China Marketing Department, wrote that although we have been trying our best to suppress the impact of memory price increases on terminal prices, the current rise in memory prices and the magnitude of the increase have far exceeded expectations.
To ensure a normal supply and stable quality of products, it is necessary to adjust the suggested retail price of some products currently on sale.
This adjustment involves three models: Starting April 11, the price of the REDMI K90 Pro Max will increase by 200 yuan, the Turbo 5 and Turbo 5 Max will no longer have their Spring Festival special offers, while the 512G large memory model will continue to receive a subsidy of 200 yuan.
Wei Siqi emphasized that Xiaomi will do its best to limit the impact of memory price increases to as few models as possible.
Currently, Xiaomi’s price increase is much more moderate compared to its competitors, with only minor price adjustments.
Lu Weibing, partner of Xiaomi Group and president of its mobile phone division, stated at a recent earnings conference that Xiaomi’s product range is very diversified, including not only mobile phones, tablets, and PCs, but also automobiles, home appliances, and more. Therefore, while there is pressure from rising memory prices, the company can absorb it for the time being and withstand it on its own.
He emphasized, “But I feel we can’t hold on any longer. We will definitely talk about it. I hope that when we raise prices, consumers and users can understand us. We’ve just held on a little longer than others.”
Lu Weibing also stated, “I think the trend of (mobile phone) price increases is inevitable.”
