OPPO Reno16 series features an industry-first 3D floating planet design
The OPPO Reno16 series will be officially released on May 25, and the new phone is currently in the pre-launch phase.
It is understood that the OPPO Reno16 offers four color options: Starry Night, Dream Blue, Galaxy Purple, and Midnight Black, with Starry Night being the main color.
The Reno16 features an industry-first 3D floating planet design, which uses a micron-level precision structure and millions of microlenses to create a naked-eye 3D visual effect on the phone’s back cover.
Judging from the actual photos, the back of the device features a floating planet texture. As the phone’s angle changes, the planets and rings create a distinct three-dimensional floating effect, similar to the naked-eye 3D experience on the Nintendo 3DS, making it highly recognizable.
OPPO Chief Product Officer Liu Zuohu said that his first impression of the Reno16 was that it was hard to imagine that the back cover of the phone could present such a realistic 3D floating texture.
Liu Zuohu explained that millions of microlenses are arranged beneath the planetary texture. Each microlens corresponds to a unique microscopic image, and every detail has been independently and precisely calculated. If any micro- or nano-level error occurs in any step, the complete three-dimensional effect will be destroyed.
It’s worth mentioning that the planet design language of the Reno16 has also been carried over to other new products such as the OPPO Pad 6 and OPPO Enco Air5s, presented with a star ring element, further strengthening the unified visual style of OPPO’s new product family.
