According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, Apple is expected to launch its first foldable iPhone in 2026. It will be named “iPhone Ultra” and will be priced at around US$2,000 (approximately RMB 14,522.4) .

According to Gurman, the iPhone Ultra is expected to adopt a book-style folding mechanism, similar to the design style of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold, rather than a clamshell design.

Gurman also specifically mentioned that Apple has made significant progress in folding screen technology, and its foldable iPhone will have fewer screen creases when opened, which shows that Apple has made a breakthrough in solving the key pain points of folding screen phones.

In terms of pricing, due to the increase in design costs, Gurman expects the foldable iPhone to be priced at around US$2,000, which is similar to the price range of high-end foldable screen phones currently on the market .

Furthermore, according to analyst Jeff Pu, the device has recently entered Foxconn’s new product introduction (NPI) phase and is expected to start mass production in the second half of 2026 .

This shows that Apple’s foldable iPhone project is progressing steadily and is expected to meet consumers on time.
