Last month, Samsung introduced its very first smartphone with a tri folding display called the Galaxy Z TriFold. Today, the phone has gone on sale and it sold out within minutes because of high demand. Now that people are starting to use the device there is a chance that some may accidentally drop it and need to have it repaired. Samsung has now confirmed the prices for replacing the outer screen and the inner folding screen of the Galaxy Z TriFold.
According to a recent report, replacing the outer display of the Galaxy Z TriFold will cost between KRW 137,000 and KRW 226,000 which is roughly $92 to $153. On the other hand, replacing the inner display is much more expensive with prices ranging from KRW 1,657,500 to KRW 1,834,500 (approximately $1,122 to $1,242). The cost of the outer display is comparable to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 but the inner display is incredibly pricey but this is understandable because it is a tri folding screen.
The report also mentions that at each major Samsung store in Korea, the company is making between 15 and 30 units of the Galaxy Z TriFold available for purchase. Across the country, a total of 700 units are reportedly available. The report also states that the company intends to sell between 2,500 and 5,000 units by the beginning of next year. However, since the credibility of the source is unknown, it’s best to treat this information carefully and not take it as absolute fact.
