Huawei Mate 90 Pro Max Imaging Revealed: 50MP Main Camera + 200MP Periscope Telephoto Lens with External Lens Support

Fast Technology reported that a blogger revealed the camera specifications of the Huawei Mate 90 Pro Max.

It is reported that the phone is equipped with a 50-megapixel RYYB main camera with a 1/1.28-inch sensor, variable aperture, anti-glare coating, and a dynamic range of 18EV. It also features a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens and a new generation of red maple leaf primary color lens, and supports external lenses, making its imaging capabilities extremely strong.

Many netizens speculate that the external lens on the Huawei Mate 90 Pro Max might be a teleconverter. Currently, several brands have developed teleconverters for their flagship imaging phones. The significance lies in using an external optical structure to extend the focal length, allowing the phone to achieve higher magnification telephoto capabilities without sacrificing image quality, thus compensating for the insufficient resolution of the built-in telephoto lens when shooting at extremely long distances.

It’s like adding a “telescope” to your phone, bringing distant details closer. At concerts, with a teleconverter, even those in the back rows can capture close-ups of the singers on stage, instrument details, and lighting effects, avoiding the blurriness and noise that comes with digital zoom.

For ordinary users, it lowers the barrier to professional telephoto photography, allowing mobile phones to capture usable and clear images in distant scenes.

In terms of configuration, the Huawei Mate 90 Pro Max features a dual-layer OLED screen and is powered by the Kirin 9050 Pro chip. It adopts logical folding technology to achieve a significant performance leap without relying on advanced lithography processes, and comes pre-installed with the HarmonyOS 7 operating system.

It’s worth mentioning that this launch event will simultaneously unveil four flagship models: the Mate 90, Mate 90 Pro, Mate 90 Pro Max, and Mate 90 RS Master. The lineup is impressive and definitely worth looking forward to.
