Fast Technology reported that Huawei held a terminal innovation technology communication conference in Lianqiu Lake, Shanghai, where it announced the latest market performance of Huawei’s foldable screen phone.

According to official disclosures, Huawei’s cumulative shipments of foldable screen phones have exceeded 20 million units.

Meanwhile, in the first half of 2026, Huawei’s foldable phone market share exceeded 70%, continuing to lead the foldable phone market.

It is worth noting that Li Xiaolong, CTO of Huawei Terminal BG, also revealed that Huawei will launch new foldable screen products in the future, further expanding the product form of foldable screen phones.

It is understood that Huawei launched its first foldable screen phone as early as 2019, and has since continued to innovate in terms of hinge structure, flexible screen and overall thinness and lightness, constantly improving the user experience of foldable screen phones.

In terms of product form, Huawei pioneered the new category of wide folding in early 2025, forming a multi-form product layout covering double folding, triple folding and wide folding.

In September of this year, Huawei’s new generation of tri-fold flagship Mate XT 2 Extraordinary Master went on sale, with prices starting at 19,999 yuan.

This phone is the first to be equipped with the Kirin 9050 Pro chip, which is built based on Tao Law Logic Folding Technology, and adopts a brand-new double-inward folding wing triple-folding structure.

Unlike the previous generation’s Z-shaped folding design, the new structure allows the two side screens to fold inwards, with the main screen completely housed inside the device. This ensures that the bending area of the flexible screen is located inside the device when closed, further enhancing the screen’s protective capabilities.
