Huawei Mate 80 series is expected to be released around November 25. There will be four models in total, but the naming and positioning have changed.

These are the Mate 80, Mate 80 Pro, Mate 80 Pro Max, and Mate 80 RS Master.

The Pro Max is a new model. Compared to the previous Pro+ and Pro models, the Pro Max is significantly different from the Pro, representing a clear different positioning. Therefore, the name has been changed.

The Mate 80 Pro Max and Mate 80 RS will be the mainstays of the series, boasting the highest positioning and configuration among candybar phones.

According to blogger “Experience More”, both the Mate 80 Pro Max and Mate 80 RS will be equipped with dual periscope telephoto lenses, featuring a 48MP + 50MP dual telephoto configuration.

This corroborates previous leaks. The blogger “Digital Chat Station” recently stated that Huawei’s future models will cancel the single-lens binocular periscope telephoto technology, which was originally a transitional solution with a large physical structure, high cost, and discontinuous focal length switching.

In retrospect, the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra, as the world’s first smartphone with a dual-lens camera, has indeed become the last generation.

While the dual-lens camera design is ingenious, it doesn’t actually save much space compared to a separate dual periscope lens, but the cost increases dramatically, making it somewhat counterproductive.

In addition to imaging, the Mate 80 series will support 3D face recognition across the entire series, and will also be equipped with a side fingerprint sensor.

It is expected to be the first to use the Kirin 9030 flagship processor. The top-of-the-line Mate 80 RS will offer a 20GB+1TB version, with the 20GB memory being a domestically customized solution, unique in the industry.
