MediaTek Dimensity 9400 Launches New Generation of Ultra-Large Core X5
according to the latest revelations from digital blogger “Digital Chat Station“, MediaTek’s next-generation flagship mobile platform Dimensity 9400, which will be launched later this year, will use Arm’s latest CPU architecture, codenamed For “BlackHawk”, it is already undergoing internal testing and the progress is very good.
The “BlackHawk” architecture is positioned at the flagship level and is a super-large core. It is expected to be officially named Cortex-X5.
According to internally verified IPC (instructions per clock cycle), Arm X5 can surpass Apple’s latest A17 Pro, and is far ahead of Qualcomm’s own nuvia.
The so-called IPC can be roughly understood as the real strength of a CPU architecture. The higher the IPC at the same frequency, the better the performance. If it is matched with a higher frequency, the performance can be even better.
Last year’s Dimensity 9300 ushered in the era of all-large cores, and this year’s Dimensity 9400 will continue this idea. The confidence comes from this new X5 ultra-large core.
Previously, it was revealed that Dimensity 9400 will use TSMC’s N3E, which is the second generation 3nm manufacturing process, and is MediaTek’s first 3nm mobile phone chip.
The CPU part is still an all-large-core design, including one X5 large core, three X4 large cores, and four A720 small cores.
As usual, the vivo X200 series is expected to launch with the Dimensity 9400, which is expected to be released in October.
