New Certification Confirms Poco C81 Pro is Incoming

Poco appears to be preparing to launch a new smartphone, the C81 Pro. The device was recently certified by Thailand’s NBTC which means it has passed the necessary regulatory checks for sale in the country. Listed under the model number 25128PC17G, the documentation reveals that the smartphone will not support 5G networks. Given that the C81 Pro belongs to Poco’s entry level C series lineup, it is safe to expect that the device will be positioned as a budget friendly low end smartphone.

Back in January, the device received certification from Indonesia’s SDPPI although it was listed under the original Poco C81 name. Over the past few months the handset appears to have undergone a minor naming update, now carrying the “Pro” suffix making the Poco C81 Pro essentially identical to the earlier certified model. Additionally reports indicate that in certain markets, this smartphone may be marketed under a different name specifically as the Redmi A7 Pro.

Assuming the rebranding comes to fruition, the Poco C81 Pro is expected to feature a 6.9-inch HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate providing smooth visuals. The handset will reportedly be powered by the Unisoc T7250 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM and storage configurations of 64GB or 128GB. Photography capabilities are likely to include a 50MP primary rear camera and a 13MP front facing camera for selfies and video calls. The device is also said to feature a hefty 6,000 mAh battery with support for 15W wired charging. On the software side, it may disappoint some users by launching with Android 15 even though Android 16 has been officially available since June.
