Fast Technology reported that OnePlus China President Li Jie introduced that the OnePlus 16 supports a global 165Hz ultra-high refresh rate, allowing users to experience the smoothness of 165Hz in all downloaded applications. Furthermore, OnePlus has integrated the switch directly into the system settings, encouraging users to enable it at any time.

Li Jie also stated that he had conducted some user interviews before, and one real feeling was that almost everyone said the same thing: “After using the global 165Hz refresh rate, there’s really no going back.” He welcomed everyone to visit OPPO stores to experience the OnePlus 16’s global 165Hz refresh rate firsthand, believing it would exceed their expectations.

It’s reported that the previous flagship OnePlus 15 was the first to support a 165Hz high refresh rate. At that time, the 165Hz high refresh rate could only be enabled in gaming scenarios and some applications. This time, the OnePlus 16 achieves a stable 165Hz refresh rate in global mode, bringing a smoother and more fluid operating experience.

A higher refresh rate shortens the screen refresh interval. When swiping the screen, text and image ghosting is significantly reduced, and touch response is more responsive, with finger swipes and screen feedback almost synchronized. For everyday tasks like browsing news feeds and switching between apps, the visual smoothness is far superior to a 120Hz screen.

In gaming scenarios, the global 165Hz refresh rate ensures smoother dynamic transitions in game visuals, reducing stuttering and tearing during fast-paced action. OnePlus has also optimized power consumption, preventing uncontrolled battery drain with the global high refresh rate, balancing smoothness and battery life.

In addition, the OnePlus 16 debuts the self-developed G3 e-sports network chip, which can achieve lower game latency under the same network environment. Whether indoors, on the subway, or in places with network congestion, game latency remains stable.

In terms of hardware configuration, the OnePlus 16 is among the first phones to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Ultra chip (6th generation), a built-in 9000mAh battery, 50W wireless fast charging, IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K dust and water resistance, and a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, allowing for instant unlocking even with wet hands. Furthermore, it is the first phone to feature tri-frequency GPS and quad-frequency BeiDou navigation, resulting in faster positioning and more accurate navigation.

The new product will be released on October 12th.
