OnePlus is set to reveal its new smartphones, the Turbo 6 and Turbo 6V in just a few hours. While the company had teased the key specifications of the Turbo 6 a few days earlier, it waited until today to share details about the Turbo 6V which is expected to be the more affordable option between the two.
Even though the Turbo 6V will be the more budget friendly model, it comes with the same large 9,000 mAh battery as the Turbo 6 so battery life shouldn’t be an issue. It runs on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chip and its screen refreshes at 144Hz, a little lower than the Turbo 6’s 165Hz but still very smooth for gaming and scrolling.
The Turbo 6V comes with a battery that can be charged at speeds of up to 80W using a wired connection. In addition, it supports 27W reverse wired charging and bypass charging. This means you can continue playing games while the phone is plugged in without putting extra stress on the battery.
OnePlus has highlighted the Turbo 6V’s durability by stating that it has passed seven stringent military grade tests. These certifications are designed to prove that the smartphone can survive extreme and harsh conditions including severe heat and cold, pervasive dust, heavy rainfall, long term exposure to corrosion, continuous vibration and accidental drops from significant heights. Beyond these military grade certifications the phone also carries the highly respected IP66, IP68 and IP69K ratings ensuring that it is exceptionally resistant to both dust and water under a variety of conditions. The device will be available in three elegant finishes Nova White, Fearless Blue and Solo Black and these options allow users to combine durability with personal style.
