Qualcomm’s most powerful SoC! Samsung S26 Ultra debuts with the Snapdragon 8E5 overclocked version.
Samsung has not delayed the release of the Galaxy S26 series . This flagship phone is expected to be officially announced in late January 2026 and officially released in February 2026. If the news is true, the Samsung Galaxy product launch event may be held in the last week of January next year.
Samsung insiders revealed that the company’s earlier decision to cancel the Galaxy S26 Edge and instead launch the Galaxy S26 Plus extended the hardware verification cycle for the Galaxy S26 series. However, this issue has been quickly resolved, allowing the release date to proceed as planned.
It is understood that only the Galaxy S26 Ultra in the Galaxy S26 series will use Qualcomm Snapdragon processors across the board, while the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 Plus are expected to offer Exynos and Snapdragon versions.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra is the first to feature a boosted version of the Snapdragon 8E5 chip (Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5 for Galaxy), with a CPU clock speed of 4.74GHz, while the standard Snapdragon 8E5 has a CPU clock speed of 4.6GHz.
In addition, the Snapdragon 8E5 “boosted” version is still manufactured based on TSMC’s 3nm process, and the CPU consists of 2 super cores and 6 large cores, making it Qualcomm’s most powerful mobile phone chip.
