Samsung Galaxy A56: A Pleasant Battery Life Surprise

This year, Samsung seems to be delivering on its promise of two-day battery life, and the Galaxy A56 is proving to be no exception. While we’re still in the process of reviewing this mid-range device, early battery life tests have left us seriously impressed.

A Mid-Range Phone with Flagship-Level Battery

If this feels like déjà vu, you’re not wrong. We had a similar experience with the Galaxy S25 Ultra earlier this year. However, we weren’t expecting the mid-range Galaxy A56 to perform at such a high level. Yet here we are, thoroughly impressed.

After spending some time with the Galaxy A56, it’s clear this phone is shaping up to be a battery powerhouse. With mixed usage—no mobile games included—we managed nearly two full days of use before the battery hit 24%. The screen-on time? Six and a half hours. Screen-off time? One day and sixteen hours. Check out the screenshot below for more details.

What Powers the Galaxy A56?

The Galaxy A56 packs a 5,000mAh battery and supports 45W charging, which definitely helps with the impressive performance we’re seeing. However, what’s really surprising is the device’s new Exynos 1580 4nm chip. Mid-range phones with Exynos SoCs don’t usually stand out for battery life, but the A56 is changing that narrative.

Interestingly, Samsung also upgraded the Galaxy A56’s display, making it slightly larger (by 0.1 inches) and brighter compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy A55. Thankfully, this enhancement hasn’t negatively impacted battery performance—instead, it seems to exceed expectations.

What’s Next?

We’re continuing to put the Galaxy A56 through its paces as we prepare our full review. Until then, check out our early comparison video below, where we pit the Galaxy A56 against a couple of flagship Galaxy phones running One UI 7.
